About Angels Touch Assisted Living in West Friendship, MD
Choosing a place where a loved one will live, receive care, and build daily routines is never a simple decision. Families want reassurance that their parents, spouses, or relatives will be treated with patience, compassion, and dignity. Angels Touch Assisted Living in West Friendship, MD, was built around those very values. This community was created to feel less like an institution and more like a welcoming home where seniors are known personally and cared for with genuine attention.
Located in the peaceful countryside of Howard County, Angels Touch Assisted Living provides residents with a calm environment paired with professional care and meaningful daily engagement. The community is intentionally small so caregivers can truly know the individuals who live here. Residents are not simply part of a system—they are neighbors, friends, and members of a close-knit household.
Families often notice the difference immediately. Visitors are greeted by friendly conversations, familiar faces, and an atmosphere where caregivers and residents interact naturally. The environment feels comfortable and relaxed, which helps residents settle into their new routines with confidence and peace of mind.
Our History
The story of Angel's Touch Assisted Living began with a deeply personal experience. In 1996, founder Mark Wah faced the difficult responsibility of placing his grandfather in a nursing facility. Although the medical care was professional, the overall environment felt impersonal and distant from the warmth families hope for during such an important stage of life.
That experience sparked an idea. Mark believed seniors deserved a place where care felt human, personal, and compassionate. Instead of a large institutional setting, he envisioned a smaller community where relationships between caregivers and residents would be the heart of daily life.
Over time, Angels Touch Assisted Living grew into the trusted community it is today. A key part of that journey includes Divya Murthy, who joined the team in 2003 as a caregiver. Through dedication, leadership, and a passion for senior care, she became instrumental in maintaining the community’s standards. In 2022, Divya and her children, Priya and Rahul, became owners, continuing the vision as a family-centered assisted living community.

"After my dad passed away, my husband and I put all our efforts into trying to keep my mom in her own home, which is what she most wanted. However, it wasn't long before it became very clear that she was no longer safe living by herself. Her mental state had declined and once she began fallling, we knew it was time for a move. Although I explored many options, I primarily focused on assisted living in residential homes, which provide care for seniors with a variety of abilities. Angel's Touch immediately stood out. The staff was caring, compassionate and personable. I was impressed that many of the staff had worked at Angel's Touch for a number of years. Mark, the owner, made my mom's transition easier by inviting her along on one of their outings prior to her move. Other staff were extra attentive to help her adjustment and always supportive and offered encouragement to ease my concerns. It has been 9 years now since my mom's passing, but I still stay in touch with the staff at Angel's Touch. We feel incredibly blessed that we were able to find such a wonderful place for Mom to spend her final years. It takes a special kind of person to be a caregiver and it is obvious that the caregivers at Angel's Touch love what they do. They take the time to really get to know each of their residents, their personalities, their likes and dislikes. They demonstrate a sincere interest in each person's special interests, their families and their life stories. I was always amazed at how well they so personally got to know my mom. We are happy to have been a part of the Angel's Touch family.”
